2: Music Of The X Kind

New Feature!!

Quite a while back (September-December) I ran a feature in the blog entitled "Record of The Week", it wasn't very succesful because the blog wasn't that well known as it is now, so I scrapped it just before Christmas, promising a new feature for the new year, which of course never came about.

This afternoon I thought of a new feature that I think could be quite good. You may know if you are a regular reader of the Mr_Alt blog, I'm going leaving 20six for a couple of months in a few weeks to concentrate on revision and my A-levels, so when I come back in July I'll launch the new feature in the music section. Now that the blog is a bit more popular, and has more readers and commenters, it should be a bit more succesful. The feature is going to involve 4 songs each week chosen by a fellow blogger, but I'll tell you more later. Sorry to hold you suspence, but good things come to those who wait!

Brit Awards 2004

I for some reason watched the Brit wards last night, I told myself I'll watch until Muse and then go, so of course I had to grin and bear it for an hour before Muse came on, but it was easily worth the wait, becuase thier rendition of Hysteria was fantastic! The Darkness of course triumphed, winning 3 gongs or brits or whatever the little tropies are called, which is good, but I would have prefered to have seen Muse or Feeder win "Best Rock", cos I love Muse and Feeder! I didn't pay much attention to the other winners, but did anyone else think that 50cent looked a proper prat with that little video and then the "escape" from the police? what an idiot! Outkast was pretty good actually come to think about it, until Beyonce came on, well I don't like her music but I'll give it to her that she can sing!

Well thank god it's over for another year, now I have to remind myself to watch NME music awards tonight (Channel 4, about midnight)

See You all!

Air

Afternoon All, heard the new Air album on the radio on Tuesday night, well I tell a lie, heard it Wednesday evening cos I feel asleep during the second track becuase it's so wonderful and relaxing. Almost certainly going to buy it next week when it comes out, and will do a review and shove it up in the "All New Reviews Section" sometime late next week. However I've listened to it the whole way through about twice now, and it's damn good, and luckily I still have some HMV vouchers!!.........

Jon Lee R.I.P

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not here, I do not sleep
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sun on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
I am the shining stars at night
When you awake to the morning light
I am the soft uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
My time has come, I am at rest
I am the sunset in the west
I am the clouds that race above
Where I watch over those I love
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not here, I do not die
So hear the words that here I say
I am the love that guides your way.
